Folder Designer: Custom Icons App Reviews

I love this. It has made my life and project management so much easier. I am a journalist, a health care provider, and serve on a number of community boards and projects. Been using MAC since 1980s *o* Very quick to target vital data and research for easy access, and I love the ability to custom select icons, images etc. for identifying different ones. Love the custom colors which let me group and cluster files for a more “holographic” instant view and find.

Very nice app and shows a good aspect of my documents.

This is a nice app for creating custom icons. However, on my El Capitan test machine running the GM candidate, there are artifacts on the left side of the folder icon when using the “Icon” (not Pattern) type. Hopefully this will be corrected quickly upon the release of El Capitan.

I wanted to work with pictures converting them to folder icons. The only thing this app does is convert the picture to a pattern, not what I really wanted.

I wanted something that would let me place a photo or image of my choosing on a folder. This did it. Easy to use, no glitches. Incidentally, I’d first tried “Folders Factory” which was similar in purpose but uselessly glitchy and silent on customer service.

I’m running OS 10.11.4 Beta and when I apply a Folder Designer icon to one of my folders it reduces the size of the folder, that is, it makes it smaller. Hope the developer can fix this flaw.

I really like this program. I like having my computer very well organized and at the same time, very attractive. Being able to create distinctive, attractive folders with meaningful symbols goes a long way to making my desktop and file setup much nicer. Thanks for a really cool program.
